Therapist, Neurofeedback Clinician 2012-2015

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. I subsequently pursued a Master’s program in Expressive Arts Therapy at Lesley University in Boston, followed by a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Roosevelt University in Chicago.
I began my Theraplay journey in 2011 and became fully certified in 2014. In 2021 I became a Theraplay trainer and supervisor.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Theraplay Therapist and Trainer as well as RPT-S. I completed my graduate training at Roosevelt University and have spent my professional career as a pediatric therapist, clinical supervisor, and as the Clinical Director of Individual and Family Connection, a child and family private practice located in Chicago, IL, and River Forest, IL.

My areas of expertise and passion include building healthy attachments and bonds between children and their caretakers. I have experience working with children who have experienced relational trauma, abuse, neglect, loss, “Big T” traumas, and medical trauma. I also focus on supporting parents, believing that allyship for children cannot exist without allyship for the caregivers raising them. I use a strengths-based approach and am trained in Theraplay, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, and EMDR.

I bring a warm, supportive presence to my work. My clients and supervisees often express that they feel at ease when they first meet me. I am able to connect with some of the most ‘hard to reach’ clients by validating their struggles and taking the time to understand the unique way they experience the world. I am quick to identify my clients’ strengths, even when they can’t find them for themselves, and help them utilize these strengths to reach their personal goals. I view therapy and supervision as collaborative efforts to create positive change and strengthen family systems and relationships.
