Following her Mental Health Nurse training, Sarah worked in a variety of roles in the mental health field. Sarah has worked with children, young people and their families since 2002 in inpatient mental health in BHSCT, in the Therapeutic Team for Looked After and Adopted Children in SEHSCT in Northern Ireland. She has worked as an independent practitioner since 2020 and is based in County Mayo in Ireland.
Sarah qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in 1993 and is registered with NMC and An Bord Altranais. She has completed a wide range of professional training including Theraplay, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Systemic Practice, Sensory Attachment intervention and EMDR. Sarah is currently working through the DDP practicum.
Following Theraplay level 1 in 2014 and Level 2 in 2016 training, Sarah embarked on the practicum while taking a lead in supporting residential teams to embed Theraplay into their practice. Sarah is a fully certified Theraplay Practitioner and Supervisor. She is the Theraplay Trainer in Northern Ireland, delivering Level 1 and group training through Psychological Pathways
Sarah is a Mental Health Nurse, Theraplay Therapist and Systemic Practitioner with extensive experience of working with children and young people, both in an inpatient setting and in the community. She specialises in working with children and young people in care. Sarah’s approach is informed through a wide range of related professional development. She offers individual and dyadic therapeutic input, training and support to the system around the child. Sarah is based in County Mayo on the West of Ireland.
